This is a class about the software called CorelDRAW. The article talks about what you can do with this software, how it works, and its history. This will show that this is a great way to learn something new without any cost at all. Often in the lives of people there is an event which causes our attention to shift from one thing to another. This often leads us into discovering new things which does end up ingraining itself in our lives or careers, whether we realize it or not. For me, this article and the programs it is about did just that, and still is to this day. I am a programmer and graphic designer so these tools found their way into my life very easily. The software, known as CorelDRAW is a drawing program which offers the ability to construct 3D models ranging from simple boxes to complex ways such as having surfaces such as wood or metal. The user can bring in images from another program such as a camera or a scanner into CorelDRAW. Using the tools in the software you can manipulate these images in many ways including changing lighting, colouring, textures and adding 3D components onto them if needed. This lets you do so much so fast and it is quite fun to learn how to use. I must admit, however, I am not very adept at using all of the tools and so my skills fall back on how fun it is to use them and what can be done with images hacked into it. The program I’ll be discussing today is the CorelDRAW suite of software. It consists of: CorelDRAW: This program does all that I described above and more because it has a wide variety of tools and abilities which allow for those artistic skills you may need. There are many different tools such as those used for text or painting as well as those used for creating 3D objects such as buildings. Corel PHOTO-PAINT: This is the sister program to CorelDRAW and allows for images to be edited. It has many tools which are similar to those found in CorelDRAW but are geared towards editing photos. Corel CAPTURE: A simple drawing program, somewhat like MS Paint, but able to utilize some of the tools used with CorelDRAW. This program does have a learning curve, especially for inexperienced users. However, with the right type of teaching it can become one of your favorite programs because it can be used for both serious work as well as doing something creative on the side with friends or family. Focus on learning as many as you can and be creative with it.
